Rotterdam, Den Haag (Day 3)

Long journey to Amsterdam

Written on 30.12.2014 at 11:30 to 12:15.

After quite a short night we got up at 5:50 in the morning. We still had to pack our things – the time flew and all of the sudden it was 6:30. We had to hurry because otherwise we would miss our train. About five centimeters of snow lied on the streets, which wasn’t that ideal for us because we were running. On our way to the train station, a laptop slid out of its bag… because of that a corner broke away. Besides that and some scratches it luckily still worked.

Anyway, our hurry was not necessary at all – the train was five minutes late. As we boarded the train, there wasn’t any free seat left. Until some people left the train in Düsseldorf, we were sitting on our luggage. The train took more than three hours instead of the planned two hours to arrive in Utrecht. This was due to some technical defects.

After we changed the train and arrived in Rotterdam, we gazed the fancy architecture, which is already recognizable by the train station. We walked through a shopping street and ate lunch at “La Place”. After that we got our luggage at the train station lockers (7.50 Euros per person) and drove to Den Haag. There we left out luggage again at some lockers (4.60 Euros per person) and took a tram to the beach, where we shot some photos and walked around. Then we got back to Den Haag, got our luggage and boarded a train to Amsterdam. We arrived there, pretty tired, at 18:30. We took a taxi to our hotel (NH City Centre) and relaxed a bit.

After a good rest we got out of the hotel and walked around in Amsterdam for quite a long time. We then decided to have dinner at an Argentinian restaurant near our hotel, “Los Santos”. Shortly after midnight we were back at our hotel and went to sleep.
